The invoking of the Mangal Yantra and its worship is carried out on Tuesdays. It has specifically to be carried out on a Tuesday as it is the only auspicious day for it, worship any other day would not produce the same results. According to customs and rituals one must have fasted for 21 simultaneous Tuesdays to be able to carry out the puja. The puja is carried out in the same way as that of the other Yantra's but the mantra that is to be recited differs from Yantra to Yantra. In the case of the Mangal Yantra the recitation is as follows:-

"Om Angarakaya Namaha"

This particular Yantra is made on silver or gold only. The Yantra has a depiction of a large triangle which encloses several other triangles. The smaller triangles within the large triangle are of two types. One is inverted while the other is a regular triangle. There are a total of 21 inverted and regular triangles within the large triangle. These smaller triangles have inscriptions on them.

The Yantra is usually worn by the person who is born during the planetary alignment of Mars being on the first, fourth, seventh and tenth house. The Yantra can also be placed in the house to ward off evil and bad luck. The primary use of this Yantra is to ward off miseries, troubles, difficulties and help a person get married. It also keeps evil and accidents at bay. It has also been used in the case of abortions, clearing of debts and infertility. The Yantra when kept on a rising moon during Tuesday night's is supposed to keep safe the wearer from accidents injuries and blood pressure related diseases.
