Maiser Khana is located on Bathinda-Mansa Road, in the district of Bathinda, in the state of Punjab, in Northwestern India. It is a temple that was built in a successful manner in order to largely honour the Goddesses Jwala Ji and Durga Mata. It is situated approximately 29 km away from the heart of Bathinda. On the occasion of Ashtmi, two grand melas are conducted by this temple that largely attracts local people, pilgrims and devotes from the state of Punjab, rest of India and abroad. As per the local legends, a local man named "Kamala", having largely failed to immediately undertake hazardous pilgrimage to far off place named Jwala ji, directly underwent a lifelong penance in order to personally honour Durga for her wholehearted darshan. The Goddess was really pleased with him so granted a vision twice a year to him. This is the reason why two melas are conducted each year with lot of interest at this temple. Now, it is an important tourist hub of Punjab and the district of Bathinda. The temple's architectural style and pattern belongs to the North India Hindu temple architecture. The two-day grand Maiser Khana mela in personal honour of Goddess Bhagwati is conducted in a grand manner at Maiser Khana village with active participation of local people and visiting pilgrims and tourist belong to Punjab, rest of India and abroad. The mela is conducted in a religious manner by the temple authorities. People sing songs in praise of Goddess Durga and Jwala. Most of the major and minor festivals are celebrated in a religious manner at this particular shrine. On auspicious days and festive days, special pujas and other religious rituals are grandly conducted for the devotees and pilgrims. It is to be noted that local people visit this temple daily to seeking the blessing of the Goddesses.
