Trimulgherry Fort is lactated at cantonment area, Secunderabad, Hyderabad District, Telengana State of India. It is a fort built on plain lands by the BEIC (British East India Company) in 1867. This is a vast fort for camping military and its offices. It is an historic marvel to see, it is of tourists importance in Hyderabad for its splendid architecture. Trimulgherry Fort Architecture

Trimulgherry Fort was built by the British for its troops. Its architectural pattern is in European and Indian pattern. The materials of constructions used here are granites stones, lime stones, iron bars and Woods. It is a vast fort surrounded by a deep trench of (500 meters) all over the walls. Its walls were built up to (5 to 7 meters) in height and it ran around a 5 Km in length. It was the largest Scoff ever built for BEIC in south India. It can halt 5000 armed personal at a time in this fort. There are large granaries and arms store rooms inside the fort. A large dining are is found here, with a seating capacity of 500 peoples at a time. Very important part of the construction is to handle as Staples of 1000 horses in this fort. Inside the fort there are many small rooms for lodging and large rooms for military offices were built here. All together it was specially designed for military purposes. It was the strongest forever in the Deccan province of Indian History.

Trimulgherry Fort History

Trimulgherry Fort was the consequence of Sepoy mutiny of 1857. The BEIC thought of safe guard their military, which was scattered around Alwal to Secondrabad in small and large tents. The fear of revolt made them to safe guard their military stocks and its personals. The Trimulgcherry fort started its construction activity from 1857 and it was completed on 1867, with the help of Nizam Sikandar Jah under BEIC rule. Initially this fort was called as Garrison Fort'. Soon after this fortification work was completed. Its name took permanently as 'Seconderabad Cantonment Area' from BEIC time to the present time. This large historic fort was built on the plane lands of the Deccan Plateaus. Presently it is changed over to a Military hospital.
