Chanderi Fort is built on an elevation of 790 meters above the sea level. This makes this fortress a perfect vigil over the surrounding areas. Since the invaders and trades has to cross this region, who are coming from the central parts of India towards the Mumbai. This fort is a perfect stone marvel. The entire structure is built with the granite stones locally mined on this hill tops. It has large thick walls in a very good height. These walls are supported with cylindrical bastions.



Ghodbunder Fort is built by the Portuguese in the European architectural form. This fortress is totally made of stone blocks, which were locally mined from the same areas were this fort was built. The place chosen is a very good defensive area on a hill mount. These hills were located in the suburbs of the Thane City and were easily accessible to the sea ports and nearby towns. This fort has got a great rampart with many bastions alongside its walls. These walls are mounted with cannonade on its top.



Kaldurg Fort has no significant design nor built with inner complexes. What are found now are the remains of the few fort walls. Its water tanks show's that once it was a human occupied place. It has lengthy rectangular walls. These are built as such that the fort is divided in to two sections. One can be found in the lower portion of the hilltop main fort. It is just a 10 meter high to reach the hilltop fort. Its hilltop has plan lands found with sand muds.



Malang Gad Fort is well built at a height of 790 meters above the sea level. This fort is build on the plane area of this hilltop know as Sone Machi. It has a high raised monolith stone on this fort place know as the Pir Machi. It is the highest peak here. This fort is totally built from the rocks locally found here. Most of these rocks are cut from the same areas were this fort was built. The most important feature of this fort is it doesn't have any look out gaps in its main walls.
