Salar Jung Museum is put up at Salar Jung Road, Darulshifa Block, Hyderabad District of Telangana State in India. It is the class museum of tourist importance for its vast collection of antiquities dated back to 4th Century BC to the latest era. This museum was established in 1951 AD and named it in honor of its founder Salar Jung. It is a very excellent place to fine arts personals, students, antique lovers, historians and scholars. Its historic collections are spread across large floors and halls of a three storied giant building. It is located in the heart of the city. The nearest places are Kachiguda, Hyderabad Deccan and Nampaly local railway station; from here it is in the walk able reach this museum. Hyderabad is nigh linked with rail, roads and flights. Since, it is located in the Deccan plateaus main lands, all road and rails pass through it. Hyderabad has International Airport to cater the need of foreign tourists.

Salar Jung Museum Architecture

Salar Jung Museum is a three storied large building on the banks of River Musi. It has very large halls and floors to accommodate these antiquities for public display. There are 38 galleries all around the floors. These are named as 'Mir Laiq Ali Khan Bhavan' on the east wing, 'Mir Turab Ali Khan Bhavan' as its west wing, and the main central block. The antique are divided and placed according to their identity like, European, Middle East, India and Chinese. Special care is taken towards learning and maintenance. It has got fine Libraries, a lab, photo incision; objects display part, and a store. In the entrance there is a top-drawer reception room to help the tourist and general public for providing information related to the museum. Here there are separate rooms to keep our belongings with lockers facilities.

Salar Jung Museum History

Salar Jung Museum is of great historical importance. Here you can find more the 40,000 ancient articles from all parts of the world. There are a vast collection of literally works in 50,000 numbers, which are in printed and written forms. There are 9000 ancient manuscripts worth seeing its writing style and bindings of these manuscripts. The complete credit goes to the Nizam's Prime Minister Salar Jung who was a scholar in ancient artifacts. He went throughout the world and collected antiques as a hobby and put to those objects in this museum. From 1961 it's under the cover of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs, and its president is the governor of the state. This ministry conducts various seminars and research works which are very beneficial to fine arts students.

Salar Jung Museum Tourism Importance

Salar Jung Museum is of significant tourist importance. Since, it has one of the world's largest ancient antiquity collections. It is the best place to visit by all age of peoples to know about the past world. The best season to come here are from the month of August to February. Since, the summer is terribly hot here. There are many hotels and resorts places to cater the need of tourists. Locally you can move around with Hindi and English languages. Its official language is Urdu and Telegu. It is open to public from morning 10am to evening 5pm, It is closed on Fridays and other local and national holidays. Please check the dates before you come here. The entry fees are Rs.10 and for foreigners it is Rs.150. Photo and Video cameras are allowed for a free.
