Prachina Museum is an initiative taken by the royal 'Rathor' family descendent to preserve the cultural values of 'Rathors' in Rajasthan in the year 2000. It was established by the daughter of late king 'Narander Sing Ji' named Siddhi Kumari. She founded this museum as a cultural centre for learning arts and crafts. It is situated within the 'Junagarh Fort' premises. This fort is in Bikaner city of Rajasthan State, India. This fort is not on the hill top and lays parallel to the Bikaner city. This fort is six hundred years old monument still standing in its historical glory. To visit here all modes of transport like 'Rail, Road and flights' facilities are serviced twenty four hours. Nearest connecting city is Jodhpur by 251 km, from its state capital Jaipur it is 331 km. From New Delhi the distance is 448 km and from Mumbai to Bikaner is a distance of 1255 km.

Prachina Museum Architecture

Prachina Museum is in the Junagarh fort, which is a brilliant work of architectural importance. Even though it was built in the 16th Century AD it doesn't lose its design and structure. It is still standing magnificent in the history of time. The Prachina museum is also in one of the complexes in this fort, which accommodate those rarest of rare collections, that the outer world has not seen at or it can be said as the royal treasure unfolded to everyone to see and admire. Prachina Museum started in the year 2000 was set to preserve the royal heritage monuments and its articles used in those days. The name 'Prachina' itself implies 'Olden'. This initiative was taken for the well being of local artisans to study and do practice a similar work. To serve the prospective, it has a museum shop, a gallery, a museum cafe and public information centre to help all kinds of peoples. Many articles of Maharajas and their personal belongs are displayed. All costumes used by the royal clans are on to display. Arms used in wars and war related paintings are superb. Paintings of rulers are displayed in chronological order. Many kinds of utilities and ceramic works are there in display. Articles made from brass, silver and gold. Collections of gems and jewelry's form a separate section. Old written manuscripts of rulers are framed and kept.
