Naukhanda Palace which is situated at the site of Aurangabad was structured by Malik Ambar during the call of 16th century to accommodate their royal clans. In total it had 9 apartments all furnished with the Mughal architecture to provide that classy touch. According to historical facts the palace was modified by the noble Alam Khan of Aurangzeb court and it was further renovated by the Asaf Jah I.

The entire property of the palace seems to revive the glory of Mughal days and it's amazing construction which was commissioned by Malik Ambar redefines the feudal past. The classified section of palace which is portrayed by Dewan-i-am, Dewan-i-khas, Masjid and kacheri speaks the volume of wisdom.

Naukhanda Palace Architecture

The Naukhanda Palace which is renowned for its brilliant architecture was classified into nine apartments and 5 Zenanas. The entire 5 Zenanas namely Divan-i-Aam, a Divan-i-Khas, a Masjid and a Kacheri were attached with garden and a cistern. The wood work and the stucco plaster which were supposed to be the charm of the palace are all worn out except of Hamam which still shows resistant against the havoc of time. All the authentic ornaments and the equipments are placed in the throne room and the Kacheri of the Nizam is placed in a Gaddi. The Divan-i-Aam the manifesto of architecture are living in ruins. It is believed that when Nizam Ali Khan was at Aurangabad he captured and occupied Naukhanda Palace and the Gaddi you will witness defines his legacy and inheritance.

While strolling around the palace the 5 Zenanas you will witness defines comfort and luxury because the presence of garden and cistern speaks their royal affair. The palace at present is owned by Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur.

Naukhanda Palace History

According to historical facts after the construction of the Palace it was captured by Nizam Ali Khan at present the entire scenario and the periphery of the palace is in dying condition except the central part which seems to be at good condition. The entire building which is classified into 5 sections was decorated with stucco plaster and was reserved for women only. The stucco plasters of the structure are withered by the ravages of time. The Diwan e Aam of the 5 zananas was destroyed to structure medical college of Aurangbad.
