In the year 1991, Maharaja Yogesh Raj Singh Ji thought of transforming the palace to a luxurious hotel, hence shortly it was renovated with the many additional materials which included the arched corridors, the residential quarters and also the magnificent courtyards which have been extended. The fresco which has been well designed with the furniture used in the palace is rare and unique. Kawardha Palace History

The Karwadha Palace was built in between the period of 1930 and 1939, by the Maharaja named Maharaja Dharamraj. The entire design of the palace was commissioned by Maharaja tough some of the renovation have been done.

Today, the palace is managed and maintained by the successor Maharaja Vishwaraja Singh and his family and thus even today after centuries old, the Palace is able to preserve its historical importance which represent the glorious past. The main gateway of the palace is known as Haathi Darwaza and it marks the royal processions that were carried out by the royal elephants during those times.
