Bigfoot Art Gallery is designed as a model of village which dates back to old centuries. It is created in green hillside along with guided walkways which takes back to the memory of Goa in traditional times. The model village in Bigfoot Art Gallery is characterised by diverse small houses which display traditional occupation and social class viz. fisherman, artists, music institution, planters, alcohol shops and market among others. There lies variety of sporadic and desolate flowers and bourgeons, ranges of beautiful insects and birds in Bigfoot Art Gallery. However, the key attraction of Bigfoot Art Gallery is a giant 14 meter tall statue of Sant Mirabai which was engraved within one month. This statue has been cited as the largest laterite statue in India.

Bigfoot Art Gallery History

There is a significant history behind the appellation of Bigfoot Art Gallery. The gallery obtained its name from the impression of a big foot on hard rock. In accordance with a legend, an affluent person named Mahadar lived at the current position of Bigfoot Art Gallery who always believed to support the deprived people. Nevertheless, avaricious fellow citizens took advantage of this morale person and cheated him on his every belongings. As a result, the destitute Mahadar pleaded to the lord passionately and he was questioned by the lord if he would prefer to penalise the evildoers. However, since Mahadar was not vindictive, he simply asked for a section of land where he could stand and pray for the betterment of manhood. Thus, the lord provided him a rock where he can stand and pray. Observing this dedication, lord called him to heaven and left behind his foot print as a blessing. Thus, from that time the place is named as 'Bigfoot'.
