Afzal Khan's Cenotaphs is situated in about two and half mile distance from Shahpur entrance. There are big brickwork stage in the cenotaphs. The cenotaphs are designed with eleven rows of tombs which added up to 64 burials of Afzal Khan's wives. Afzal Khan had executed all of his wives before going on an assembly in order to defeat and terminate Chatrapati Shivaji. The reason for conducting such a nasty act was due to the prophecy of an astrologer that he will not return from the meeting with Shivaji.



The construction of the fort was commenced by Hyder Ali during the 1760s and completed it in 1791. This two storied building was mainly used by Tipu sultan as his residence after its completion under the guidance of Ali. However, after the death of Tipu sultan, the fort was used by the brutish government to conduct the operations of its secretariat. However, by the year 1868, the fort was left by the British.



Emphasizing the architecture of the building, it can be considered as a masterpiece taking into consideration few of its key features. Notably, the building has been constructed entirely with materials comprising granite and porphyry. The building i.e. Vidhana Soudha is further ornamented with domes in all the four corners. The entrance of the building is embellished with the 'Four-headed Lion' (national symbol of the country).



Bangalore Palace was originally created by Reverend J Garret, the principal of the Central High School of Bangalore. Afterwards, Chamarajendra Wadiyar purchased the palace in the year 1873. He was quite inspired by the Windsor Castle of London, and hence, with similar design in mind he redeveloped the palace in the year 1887. He transformed the palace into a luxurious mansion.
