It was only after Abraham and his story that the commemoration of the festival started practicing. It was said that when God had tasted Abraham on his faith, God asked him to sacrifice his only first born son to him and to his surprise Abraham's faith in him was so strong that he was even ready to give up his own son's life for him that pleases him and he ordered Abraham the lamb to be slayed instead of his son thus Abraham obeyed. From then on God blessed Abraham and told him that he will be blessed with countless sons and daughters like the sand and his generation will last forever. Till today the faith and trust of Abraham is honoured by all humanity and he is called as the father of faith. The feast of Bakra Eid is also a festival in commemoration of him and his faith in God is followed by all the Muslims and Christians worldwide.
