Yoga Vidya Ashram



Yoga Vidya Ashram is located in the beach situated village named Kovalam, near Tiruvidandai, on East Coast Road, in the capital city of Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, in South India. The ashram is founded by Swami Ananda Chaitanya. This particular ashram is run by Vidya Vahini Trust. The term Vidya Vahini largely stands for bearer of knowledge. The main aim of trust is to spread the True Tradition and knowledge of Vedanta. This trust is successfully run by eminent persons who draw from different special fields actually commanding considerable vast experience to a great extend. The emblem against a background of (AUM) shows a book of Veda on a stand. The trust's motto inscribed in the emblem is "Come In to Study, and Go Out to Serve". The meaning of Freedom plus Satisfaction Gained by Knowledge is conveyed with 'Vidyaya Amrutam Ashnute'.

On the East Coast Road from Chennai towards Mahabalipuram, in a large site extending over 1.50 acres of land, Yoga Vidya Ashram is located on a path starting westwards just opposite the Crocodile Bank. The ashram is close to the sea in an idyllic setting. It is much easily accessible from the city of Chennai.
