Shri Krishna Yogashram is located in the holy town named Guledagudda, in the district of Bagalkot, in the state of Karnataka, in South India. According to the latest survey report, it is the only ashram related yoga in South India where seekers get the feel and experience of real ancient yogic knowledge, several life saving healing therapies and techniques. This ashram is nearly 21 years old. It has served many people within the nation and abroad who drop in to directly consult for their major and minor physical and mental ailments and to learn yogic techniques.

Shri Krishna Yogashram is founded by Guruji Dr. Basavaraj Sangappa Hadagali who is popularly known as Swami Yoganand. Courses at Shri Krishna Yogashram

1. Yoga Teacher Training Course

It is a one month residential course that comes with a fee of Rs. 30000/- that includes, stay and food arrangement, deekshas, sadhana materials and books.

The curriculum of Yoga Teacher Training Course

The teaching methods and structure of the course is formulated by Swami Yoganand paramahansa. It is based on his 45years of experience in this particular field. It is a comprehensive training in several aspects of Yoga. It gives better deep understanding of the all types of essence of traditional Yogic techniques plus its related philosophy, their practical application and teaching methods. It is a 21 days course that is spread in a month with class tuition, practical sessions and seminars. The syllabus of the course is divided into A, B, and C categories.

Under the Category of A - Yoga

  • It deals with the Practical techniques of Yoga. A good number of basic and advanced yoga asana are taught with its benefit related to emotional, mental and physical effects. The yoga postures limitations and precautions in its methods and applications of teaching with a lot of perfection in a class or session. The selected asanas taught are Surya Namaskara & Chandra Namaskara, Asanas performed from Vajrasana, Standing & Side Bending Asanas, Meditative Sitting Asanas, Relaxation Asanas, Backward Bending, Eye Exercises, Forward Bending, Balancing Asanas, Inverted Asanas and Spinal Twists

  • In Pranayama: Some chosen classical Pranayamas in which a special technique known as Pranapana kriya yoga comprising: Basthrika, Omkar pranayama, Kapalabhati, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana, Tribandha and Bhramari. Physiological and Anatomical aspects will be studied and better discussed.

  • Bandhas/ Mudra: It deals with four psycho-physiological locks or classical Bandhas that includes Jalandhara, Maha, Mool and Uddiyana. The perfect methods of rightly combining bandhas with yogic techniques, mudras and pranayama are taught. Some classical mudras such as Hand Mudras, Bhoochari, Shambhavi, Agochari, Nasika, Khechari and Vipareeta Karani.

  • Shat Karmas: Under the Cleansing Practices of Hatha Yoga comprises Trataka(Concentration), Kapalbhati (Frontal Lobe cleansing), Nauli (Movement of Abdominal Muscles), Sutra Neti (Nasal cleansing), Jala Neti and Agnisar Kriya.

  • Yoga Nidra: Very deep relaxation techniques that directly place in various therapies, improving the depth plus quality of sound sleep and as a best preparation for good meditation.

  • Meditational Techniques: Comprising Spaciousness, Pranapana meditation, Antar Mouna (Inner Silence) and other meditation techniques.

  • Yoga Therapy: A basic introduction to the management of common and simple ailments such as arthritis, cardio-vascular problems, gasto-intestinal, respiratory problems, etc.) by using chosen Yoga techniques, familiarization and discussion with the practices that are prescribed specifically plus contra-indicated for ailments particularly.

  • Mantra: Discussion and practice of the useful mantras and Theory of mantra: OM, Shanti Path, Mrityunjaya, Gayatri, Brahmarpanam,Surya Namaskara Mantras - both Sun and Bija Mantras.

Under the category of B - Theoretical studies

  • A boon for human life is Yoga. The course covers Ashtang yoga (Eight Limbs of Yoga), Union (Samadhi), Meditation (Dhyana), Concentration (Dharana), Personal Practices (Niyama), Breath (Pranayama), Posture (Asana), Inward Focus (Pratyahara) and Social Ethics (Yama).

  • Introduction to Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Hatha yoga and Jnana Yoga

  • Five Sheaths of Human Body or Pancha kosh theory and its perfect relation with health of Human Body

  • The course also deals with Yoga -for stress, Yogic Diet, Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology, Introduction to Ayurveda and Lifestyle & Yoga.

Under the category of C - Assessment

  • All the participating students are assessed on their knowledge and practical ability in the given subject matters through tests and examinations. They are asked to take a demo class with their class mates in the presence of the classroom. Their theoretical and philosophical aspects of Yoga, sound grounding is also checked with various parameters.

2. Ayurveda Awareness and Special Massage Course

This particular is 7 days program is for those candidates who are keenly interested and enthusiastic in learning Ayurveda therapies. The main objective is to largely provide basic knowledge of Ayurveda plus practical training on Ayurvedic massages and its related treatment practiced.

  • The theory sessions of Ayurveda Awareness and Special Massage Course deals with Analysis of Prukrti (constitution), Benefits of Shirodhara, Marma's of human body, Udwartanam, Steps in Massage and Basics of Ayurveda.

  • The practical sessions of Ayurveda Awareness and Special Massage Course deals with Finding Once Dosha Prakruti, Shirodhara Technique, The Marma Massage Technique, A special Ayurvedic powder Massage, Whole Body Massage with Physiological and Anatomical Touch and Physiology and Anatomy of Head and Facial Massage

The ashram has decent single and double rooms with A/C and Non A/C. The rooms are equipped with basic furniture, attached washroom and toilets, shower, a kettle and telephone. There are certain rules and regulations that should be strictly followed while residing in the ashram. The inmates aren't allowed to step out of the ashram without the permission of the concerned authorities. They should give their full cooperation and coordination to their instructors and ashram authorities to a great extent. They should behave in friendly manner with others. They should cause any type of damage to the property of this ashram.
