Satyam Yoga Trust Mambalam Chennai Tamil Nadu

Nagar ashram of Chennai of Satyam Yoga trust is located in number 23/2, on Lake View Road, in the sub-town of West Mambalam, in the capital and metropolitan city of Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu. This ashram was set up to spread yoga among the people. The aim of this trust is to establish an ashram in the rural and urban set up of all districts in India. The mission has begun from Chennai by this unique trust. The other activities concentrated by this ashram are in rural areas providing Mobile Medical Mission in order to save the lives of the chronic patients, reaching the major and minor victims during crisis such as natural calamities, accidents and floods, empowering needy women mentally, physically and financially, women welfare and helping the aimless and frustrated youth in order to discover their hidden talent and power by largely conducting personality development training programs, extending a helpful and supporting hand and molding them eventually as powerful and responsible citizens.

Yoga Programs at Nagar Ashram of Chennai of Satyam Yoga Trust

1. Evening Sadhana Program

The name of the yoga center at Nagar ashram of Chennai of Satyam Yoga trust is Satyananda Yoga Centre, it is situated at Mambalam. The regular evening sadhana routine is held at the ashram premises. All are welcome to participate in this unique yoga program.

The schedule of this program is:

  • Shiv Mahimna Stotra chanting is held on every Monday,

  • Hanuman Chalisa Stotra chanting is held on every Tuesday,

  • Kirtan is held on every Wednesday

  • Guru Pooja is held on every Thursday

  • Saundarya Lahari Stotra chanting is held on every Friday

  • Mahamrityunjaya Havan for universal peace and good health is held on every Saturday

  • Durga Saptashati Stotra chanting is held on every Sunday

In place of the above regular routine, the ashram also takes up specific sadhana from time to time. Sri Rudram sadhana is specially held on Sunday in the place of the Durga Saptashati Stotra chanting. The Evening Sadhana program is between 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM on all weekdays and from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Sundays.

2. Kriya Yoga Preparatory Course

The most powerful yoga among a long list of Yoga practiced with lot of perferction is Kriya yoga. This yoga is very simple and is the best practical methods and technique for present day individuals who are really enmeshed in this world with his or her own personal and professional life. This yoga helps to awaken kundalini that is the dormant serpent power which is resident inside us. It is to be remembered that Kriya yoga largely means 'the yoga of practice, movement or action'. The method and techniques of Kriya Yoga provides a relatively risk-free means of expanding our awakening and awareness plus smooth the dormant region of the brain. This particular system of Kriya Yoga largely offers a perfect means whereby an individual don't have to directly tackle the mind. On Hatha Yoga, its practices are largely based that aims at directly controlling the Prana. On the other hand, Prana and Mind perfectly interact with each other in any given situation and circumstances so by directly controlling the prana, an individual can easily gain control over the mind to a great extend.

The Kriya Yoga Preparatory course aim is to largely prepare students for the Kriya Yoga course conducted at Munger. This course is conducted for 6 months. It is open to all students who have in a successful manner completed the one month beginner's course conducted at this ashram. This particular course will directly expose the participant to a specific set of mudras, asanas, pranayamas and bandhas plus different types of awareness of chakras. Moreover, in this course for 6 months, Regular sadhana of the methods and techniques are taught in order prepares a participant for the 8 day Kriya Yoga course conducted at Munger every year in Sep/ Oct. An integral part of the Kriya Yoga preparatory practices is the Advanced Pranayama course so all the participant of the Kriya Yoga preparatory course are advised to enroll in it. This course is held from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM on Sundays only.

3. Advanced Pranayama Course

In the evolution of human life, Prana is the vital or cosmic energy is inherent. According to the local legends and experts in this field, it is the energy that perfectly maintains the entire physical body with a lot of perfection. It is to be remembered that it can be rightly amplified, transformed and modified. The power of re-generation is one of the ability of Prana. It can be canalized to nay ailing portion of the body for the purpose of healing. This is the actual science of prana vidya. Each and every person can perfectly awaken the prana shakti for self-healing by just practicing the methods and technique of prana vidya that are taught by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Swami say "The evolution happens first, with the awareness of the psychic breath, then the psychic sound, followed by the awareness of the psychic passage, then the psychic symbol and finally the awakening of the chakras." The main aim of this Advanced Pranayama course is to prepare in a successful manner the participants for the Prana Vidya course. It is open for all and it is a 4 months course. This course is held from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM on Sundays only.

4. One Month Beginner's Yoga Course

The class began at 5.30am in the early morning daily till 7am. This particular timing is very conducive for spiritual sadhana and can make the best use of the "brahmamuhurta". All aspects of yoga is covered in this yoga program such as yama, pratyahara, dharana, niyama, asana, pranayama and dhyana practices, for the betterment of our mental body, physical body and spiritual body. The perfect foundation for any individual to rightly evolve is regularity, punctuality and sincerity which are the significant 3 discipline that need to be followed in the personal and professional life.
