Omkar Sadhana Ashram is located on Anand - Lambhvel Road, in the district of Anand, in the state of Gujarat, in Western India. On January 26, 1983, It is a Shaktipat Parampara Ashram established by His Holiness Swami Madhav Tirthji Maharaj. It is to be remembered that during the British rule, the city of Anand was a popular railway junction of the BBRS railway, at present Indian Railways. Anand is known as the milk capital of India in the phase of modern India, The dairy development program known world over as the Operation Flood and famous for the Amul Dairy.

It is to be noted that Anand is well-connected directly by all means of transport, like air rail and road. At Ahmadabad, the international airport is situated which is approximately 65 km away. At Vadodara, the domestic airport is situated which is nearly 35 km. on the Western Railway route, Anand railway station is situated that connects from Mumbai to Ahmadabad. It is about 450 km from Mumbai.

The ashram's administration is managed by a Board of Trustees of a Trust that is registered under the Public Trusts Act. In an area of approx 65,000 sq.ft, the Ashram is spread over. On the outskirts of the city, it is located. It is surrounded by green fields in a very calm and quiet atmosphere and environment. The present infrastructure of this ashram comprises of a group meditation hall, Satsang Hall, library, rooms for monks, well furnished guest house accommodation for about 150 persons, specially designed meditation cells (Mauna Mandirs) for observing complete silence, a special residential block for ladies, a beautiful garden, an excellent kitchen, etc.

Meditation/Dhyana at Omkar Sadhana Ashram

In the Shaktipat system, Dhyana or Meditation is the significant core activity. A participant is largely required to sit and regularly meditate. The Omkar Sadhana Ashram has group halls that are dedicated and committed for meditation. The meditation halls can accommodate early about 65 persons at any given time for any type of functions and activities. It is to be noted that the meditation hall is of basement type in order to fulfill the needs and requirements f a cave that used for meditation during the ancient period in India.

The Omkar Sadhana Ashram's meditation hall is normally open for participants from all faiths and religion, irrespective of their meditation methods and techniques. In the Shaktipat parampara, group meditation is very significant in all aspects. Daily group meditation is conducted in the evening hours from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm and then it is followed by the Ashram Prayers or Prarthana.

In the Ashram, specially designed meditation cells or mauna mandirs have been constructed in a successful manner for persons who really intend to perfectly maintain complete silence plus intensively meditate in any given situations and circumstances. It is to be highly noted that the meditation cells or mauna mandirs includes a living room with bathroom and toilet attached along with the basement cell for meditation purpose. The participants are largely required to give advance notice or pre-requisition for immediately booking the meditation cells or mauna mandirs. The ashram management authorities give importance for fist come-first serve basis.

The Sadhak's daily needs and requirement such as daily meals of breakfast, lunch and supper along with tea and snacks are provided in the room itself. This will keep the Sadhak engaged in his or her meditation activities without coming in direct or indirect contact with the outside world. It is to be remembered that His Holiness Swami Madhav Tirthji Maharaj largely initially initiates deserving Sadhaks in the Shaktipat system by wholeheartedly bestowing his personal grace on them. Rules and Regulations at Omkar Sadhana Ashram

The Omkar Sadhana Ashram has set certain rules and regulations for the better maintains of this place with a lot of perfection. The inmates and staffs are expected to give their full cooperation and coordination for the ashram's authorities. All lights should be switched off after 10.30pm without fail. The inmates are supposed to wear simple and comfortable dress code for meditation and being within the campus. The inmates are supposed to have good habits. They shouldn't consume any type of non-vegetarian food items, alcohol, drugs or stuffs related to it. They shouldn't indulge in smoking. They are advised to strictly follow the ashram's given rules and regulations, maintain discipline and have clean habits. They should take care of their personal health. They should have a habit of getting up early in the morning for the initial meditation program with good interest and personal enthusiasm.

They should strictly obey the instruction given by their instructors and ashram staffs plus follow it. They shouldn't use any herbal medicine, drugs and other medication in the premises. They should stick only to the prescribed diet and never indulge in less or over eating habits. The inmates aren't allowed to move out of the ashram premises without the prior notice or information of the ashram authorities. The inmates should cooperate and coordinate with the ashrams instructors and other staffs in any given situations and circumstances. In case, any of these given rules and regulations are deviated in any circumstances and situations then without any type of notice or intimation, he or she will sent out of the ashram with strict warning and never can have a place in future too in this ashram.
